Having analysed the current gaming climate in the LatAm region, BtoBet has outlined its ambitions to expand operations into the Peruvian market.

The move comes as the country is looking to follow in the footsteps of Colombia by regulating and subsequently normalising its online gaming market.

BtoBet has underlined the market as one with unique characteristics that could well propel it to the forefront of the iGaming industry in LatAm, further emphasising this the company has published an Industry Report focusing on the various elements that constitute the reasons why the region is attracting such a big interest.

BtoBet already boasts a strong presence in LatAm, particularly in Colombia and Mexico. However, considering Peru appears to be liberalising its stance with regards to online gaming BtoBet’s Chairman Alessandro Fried has deemed it as an essential market for the firm’s growth.

Fried commented: “Given the upcoming sweeping legislation that is set to be introduced, Peru scales high on our agenda, and with the region attracting interest from various operators, even on an international level, the time is ripe for BtoBet to enter such an interesting scenario.”

The region already has a very strong reputation from a retail perspective, with experts widely viewing its current regulatory framework as a big success and one that many of the other emerging LatAm regions should look towards, when attempting to build a retail footprint.

Furthermore, with well respected figures such as Manuel San Roman Benavente, the head of Peru’s gaming authority La Dirección General de Juegos de Casino y Maquinas Tragamonedas (DGJCMT) firmly stating their belief that the online sector will be regulated by the end of the year, it is easy to see why such a big interest has garnished for this Latin American country.
