Atlantic City’s Ocean Resort casino is still seeking a casino licence, just days away from its scheduled opening date. The application was due to go before the New Jersey Casino Control Commission on Wednesday this week, with additional time pencilled in on Thursday to accommodate further scrutiny if needed.

Ocean Resort is due to open on June 28, the same day that the neighbouring Hard Rock casino launches. Formerly branded the Revel, it has been reconfigured to accommodate smoking and the addition of a buffet. As the tallest building in Atlantic City, the resort casino will offer unparalleled ocean views in its 1,399 rooms and capture the essence of what draws people to this popular waterfront destination situated on 20 acres along the city’s famed Boardwalk.

The casino itself will have 138,000 sq ft of gaming entertainment comprising hundreds of games and a loyalty programme. An Ocean Premier players lounge overlooks the ocean.

In addition to its expansive hotel, casino and meeting space, Ocean Resort Casino will feature six swimming pools, including a saltwater pool, a cabana filled sun-deck and distinctive dining and entertainment venues. Ocean Resort Casino is part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt Portfolio and will include a 32,000 square-foot onsite exhale spa.
