Despite difficulties arising from Argentina’s current economic situation, this year’s SAGSE in Buenos Aires still managed to hold its own. That was the verdict of Merkur Gaming, a gold sponsor of the show, which provided a welcome focal point for visitors seeking out the latest market innovations including the Avantgarde and Evostar cabinets plus top line games such as Pharaoh’s Riches, Deep Sea Treasure and Asian Challenge.

SAGSE had been forced to change from its traditional November date to September: a date too close to G2E for comfort in the view of many expected exhibitors. But Merkur chose to continue to support the event together with fellow Gauselmann Group companies, cash handling experts GeWeTe and edict, the world exclusive provider of Merkur slot games for the online gambling market.

The event may have been smaller in scale than previously but was no less vibrant, thanks to the enthusiastic reception provided by its visitors. The post-show news that, for 2019 , SAGSE will return to its traditional November slot in the calendar was received extremely positively by all and points the way for the show to once again become the representative event for gaming across not just Argentina but across Latin America.

Summing up SAGSE Charles Hiten, CEO of Merkur Gaming Americas, noted: “SAGSE had its challenges this year but faced up to them well. Merkur Gaming was proud to be able to once again play its part as a major exhibitor and sponsor, helping to create the atmosphere which is part of the show’s proud history and successfully doing business where there was business to be done. We look forward to SAGSE returning to its traditional place in the annual show schedule and once again proving to be a calendar highlight.”
