Data analytics specialist Sportradar has been appointed by Monumental Sports and Entertainment (MSE), owner of NBA team Washington Wizards and NHL side Washington Capitals, to upgrade its over-the-top (OTT) service.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Monumental Sports Network, which serves subscribers in the US capital, will integrate data feeds provided by Sportradar to create a new live-scoring option and provide real-time betting odds.

The deal encompasses Sportradar’s data agreements with the NBA, the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), the NBA G League, the Arena Football League (AFL), and the NHL.

The Network homepage will also feature an automated schedule with live scoring and automated league-leader statistics, complemented by individual team pages which offer more in-depth data. Real time betting odds will be delivered via an additional feed, incorporating Sportradar functionality allowing users to opt-out of betting-related content.

Subscribers to the streaming platform will be able to access live games feature the WNBA’s Washington Mystics, the G League’s Capital City Go-Go, the AFL’s Washington Valor and Baltimore Brigade, as well as an array of college sports.

The service also includes on-demand access to games featuring the Capitals and the NBA’s Washington Wizards.

“We are proud to launch this enhanced platform powered by Sportradar to cater to our data-savvy viewers as well as subscribers with an appetite for the new realm of online sports betting,” said Zach Leonsis, Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Monumental Sports & Entertainment. “Sportradar is the industry leader in both sports data and integrity services and we are thrilled to work closely with them as we continue to push the envelope as an all-encompassing source for sports in the Washington DC region.”

“We are pleased to provide our leading global data services to Monumental for its latest digital platform enhancement,” said Brian Josephs, Vice President of Digital Sport at Sportradar. “Given the rich history of sports in this region, Monumental is taking an important step to ensuring that fans consistently have the most up-to-date data and remain engaged with their local teams for many years to come.”
