DFS and sports betting operator DraftKings is stirring up extra fan interest ahead of this evening’s NFL pre-season opening clash between the New York Jets and Giants with an interesting piece of wagering action.

In advance of the game, the firm will be offering an odds boost from +330 to +500 on Giants rookie QB Daniel Jones throwing an interception. “Skeptics of the Giants’ No. 1 pick – and there are many – have until the game kicks off to place their bets and cash in if Jones does what they’re expecting him to do many times this season,” said the company.

Speculation surrounding Jones’ NFL debut has been rife, with the New York Post writing: “Someday, this might be certified as the launching pad, the exact time and place for the Daniel Jones liftoff. More likely, this NFL debut for Jones will be the highly anticipated yet non-definitive first step for the rookie quarterback who one day will take over for Eli Manning.

It continued: “The Giants open up their preseason schedule Thursday night against the Jets at MetLife Stadium and Jones will either start (if coach Pat Shurmur decides to have Manning sit out) or at the very least receive substantial snaps, taking the field with starters and veterans and later with reserves and youngsters.”
