Scientific Games Corporation has been named as one of the 2020 Top 10 Innovative Companies in Georgia by the Technology Association of Georgia, a 30,000-member organization connecting and advancing the state’s vast tech ecosystem and innovation economy.

The firm has been elevated to the Top 10 after being included among the Top 40 Innovative Companies for the fourth time in five years and in recognition for innovation leadership in modernizing the global lottery industry.

The tech association cited SG’s continual large-scale innovation projects with its lottery retailer and systems technology, digital platforms and games, and sports betting technology.

“Georgia has emerged as a leading technology hotbed on the East Coast of the US, and it is an honor to be recognized with other innovation-driven companies in the state,” said Pat McHugh, Lottery Group Chief Executive for Scientific Games.

He added that the company is using tech innovation to enhance the entertainment experience for lottery players and responsibly maximize profits for lottery beneficiaries, such as education and social programs.

“We are excited about our continued innovations in our core lottery business, as well as the emerging regulated digital games and sports betting markets in the US,” he said.

McHugh will make a brief presentation alongside other Top 10 Innovative Companies at TAG’s Summit 2020 which takes place from March 3 to 4 at the Cobb Galleria Center in Atlanta.

The Summit brings together more than 1,300 technology, business and thought leaders centered around the most prominent and relevant trends that are sparking, disrupting and driving innovation today.

“The 2020 Top 10 companies are an elite group of innovators who represent the very best of Georgia’s Technology community,” said Larry K Williams, President and CEO of TAG. “These companies represent the best and brightest in our state for innovation and are leading the way in highlighting Georgia as a global leader in transformational technology.”
