SBC Digital Latinoamérica wins plaudits from delegates

SBC Digital Latinoamérica was another successful SBC Digital event as the content and valuable new business connections generated positive feedback.

SBC Digital Latinoamérica proved to be yet another successful edition of the SBC Digital Series, as the combination of insightful content and opportunities to make valuable new business connections generated overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees.

The online event brought together operators from across Latin America, together with representatives of major international betting and gaming companies interested in learning more about the varied markets in the region.

They were joined by leading gaming industry lawyers, marketing experts, payments and compliance specialists, platform and games suppliers, affiliates and publishers for two days of conference content, networking and business discussions.

Feedback from attendees in the post-event survey was outstanding, with 82% of respondents saying they would recommend SBC Digital Latinoamérica to a friend or colleague.

Attendees were also positive about the conference element of the event, with 75% of survey respondents describing the content and speakers of the panels they attended as ‘excellent’ or ‘good’.

The highest-rated session over the two days was ‘Time for LatAm to bet on esports’, ahead of ‘Leadership in LatAm gaming’, and ‘Sports betting landscape for Latin America and the role of media publishers’, with ‘LatAm regulatory briefing: where are the opportunities in 2021?’, and the ‘SBC Leaders panel’ rounding out the top five.

There was also positive feedback from the speakers who participated in SBC Digital Latinoamérica.

‘SBC Leaders panel’ speaker Andre Gelfi, Managing Partner Brazil, Betsson Group, said: “The panel was pure bliss; a great learning opportunity shared with high-level industry friends.”

Neil Montgomery, Founding Partner of Montgomery & Associados, took part in both the ‘LatAm regulatory briefing: where are the opportunities in 2021?’ session and the ‘Regulating online gaming in federal countries: challenges and opportunities’ IMGL Masterclass. He said: “I felt very honoured to represent Brazil and my firm at this prestigious virtual event, which brings together the main stakeholders of the industry in the LatAm region.”

Graciela Garay, Conmebol’s Ethics and Compliance Officer, was part of the governing body’s team presenting the ‘Sports integrity as a beacon for the betting industry’ session. She said: “We want to thank SBC for having us at the premier event for gaming in Latin America. For us at Conmebol it’s a privilege to be able to share this moment with you and share our experiences, to be able to tell you our stories and talk about a year full of challenges and sensitive topics related to football in South America and all over the world.”

Following the success of the digital event, Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC, is looking forward to focusing on the region’s betting and gaming markets again at the inaugural SBC Summit Latinoamérica in Cancún, Mexico in October.

He said: “I was delighted with how well SBC Digital Latinoamérica went and want to thank all of our sponsors and partners for their support in staging this event.

“The SBC team are now focused on developing an even stronger proposition for the live event in Cancún later in the year, which we will deliver in partnership with Global Gaming Expo. It promises to be a must-attend event for everyone who wants to learn about the Latin American betting and gaming industry, and make the business connections needed to succeed in the region.”
