DraftKings Inc has announced the launch of its online sportsbook in Wyoming, marking the 13th state in which the company offers sportsbook products online.

Users can access the sportsbook either on the DraftKings website or on the DraftKings mobile app where they can place wagers on popular sporting events.

Matt Kalish, co-founder and President, DraftKings North America, commented: “Legalized sports betting has seen widespread growth in just three years and the DraftKings Sportsbook has been at the center of the action.

“We are thrilled that Wyoming sports bettors have the opportunity to experience the highly accessible and immersive fan experience along with best in class consumer protections that our product offers millions of skin-in-the-game sports fans.”

Wyoming is the third state to have launched DraftKings online sportsbook this year after Virginia and Michigan earlier in the year. The launch follows nine years on from the firm’s entrance to The Equality State with its fantasy games.

Fulfilling regulatory requirements, DraftKings has successfully applied for a mobile operator license, allowing digital and mobile companies to operate without attachment to physical locations such as a brick-and-mortar casino.

The firm is offering users a promotional event to celebrate the launch of the sportsbook. All Wyoming customers will be offered two ‘Double Your Money’ opportunities – the first on the Colorado Rockies getting a hit and the second on the University of Wyoming Cowboys scoring a point in its home opener on September 4.

Meanwhile, DraftKings is using the launch as an opportunity to educate the bettors of Wyoming on the harms of gambling as part of its commitment to responsible gambling.

Using its S.E.R.V.E.S. program, the company will help people to ‘create inclusive and responsible pathways for people to build, create, imagine, and innovate’ as well as protect vulnerable people from gambling addictions.
